I’m a DIRECTOR/CINEMATOGRAPHER BASED IN LOS ANGELES.
Impacted by diverse mixtures of cultures and experiences, I bring a bold, eclectic point-of-view to my work. Cinema is greater than the 1s and 0s that are captured by todays digital camera sensors. It has little value as pretty images, but a flickering sequence can impact us on a personal level. It can make us laugh, cry, and sometimes, it can energizes us to take action on things we’re passionate about. It’s a simple language that helps us express complex ideas.
We often hear the phrase “all stories have been told before, so there is no originality left in the world.” To me, that can equates to a mother telling her child “all the interesting lives have already been lived, so only bother at your own risk.” this of course, would leave the child with little motivation to explore unique experiences. To this, I say, we do not create moving pictures for us, we create them for those who are willing to watch, listen, and open themselves to let us in. The effectiveness of cinema is all about when and where it meets it’s audience, and that “when and where” is constantly changing.
You can imagine, some films that you loved as a child, would certainly not be the ones that hold your attention now, or the films that had such importance in your development as a person, have little impact on you now. You can easily pick out what you now know to be flaws with story structure, visual flow, or character development. If we make films for an audience that is never that same at any given moment, and their interest and opinions grow and change all the time, how can we possible run out of stories to tell?
From narrative to documentary, my work has been featured at over 20 film festivals including The Los Angeles Film Festival, The Napa Valley Film Festival, and The American Documentary Film Festival,
